All too often players are brought to the Premier League, described as world class, and rarely to they live up to the billing, take Andriy Shevchenko for instance.
Aguero’s capture, for £37 million, also puts into perspective the ridiculous transfer deadline day deals for Fernando Torres (£50 million) and Andy Carroll (£35 million) both of who have underperformed.
This season the neutral fan should be thankful that the Premier League has a new superstar, one who is also a perfect role model off the field, unlike Wayne Rooney or Carlos Tevez.
How manager Roberto Mancini must wish Mario Balotelli would learn how to remain low-profile like Aguero.
So far this season Aguero already has 21 goals to his name, and you wouldn’t bet against him reaching 30.
Next time you hear a fan or manager excuse a foreign player for taking their time to adjust to the Premier League, simply point them to Aguero.
