Serge Aurier has liked an Instagram photo of himself in a Tottenham Hotspur kit.

It was reported by The Mirror earlier this week that Tottenham Hotspur were confident about sealing a £20 million deal to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Serge Aurier.

The 24-year-old is expected to leave the French capital before the month is out, amid speculation linking him with Manchester United and Tottenham.

But has the Ivory Coast right-back just dropped a hint over his preferred destination?

On Instagram, Aurier, whose handle is ‘thecrazychild93’ liked a photoshopped image of him donning a Spurs kit, made by a Lilywhites supporter page called ‘COYS EDITS’.

Aurier, rated at around £20 million according to The Mirror, is a character who might well have a sense of devilment in him, so it remains to be seen whether it was a bonafide hint or simply a photo which he genuinely liked.

If he follows the signing of Davinson Sanchez to North London then the Lilywhites’ transfer window would be beginning to take shape at long last.

It had been a frustrating summer for Tottenham up until Friday when they announced a deal had been struck with Ajax to sign the 21-year-old centre-back.

If Aurier joins, he would be a replacement for Kyle Walker, who joined Manchester City earlier this summer, and compete with Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker-Peters for the right-back slot.
