A potentially serious injury to Fiorentina’s star striker Giuseppe Rossi may cause the Viola to close the door on the sale of Juan Cuadrado.
An injury to former Manchester United player Giuseppe Rossi may mean Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado isn’t allowed to leave this summer.
Gifted marksman Rossi’s career has been blighted by knee problems and he has again been sidelined by an injury to the right knee, which has been operated on three times.
Rossi missed out on playing for Italy at the World Cup despite a blistering start to the 2013-14 campaign largely due to a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered in January.
The American-born star damaged his knee during training last Thursday and while it doesn’t look to be too serious, it showed ‘overload’ on the muscles which means he may have to rest for some time.
Fiorentina have been reluctant to let Cuadrado leave in any case despite rumours that Manchester United or Barcelona could table a mammoth bid and the latest setback could make a move even less likely.
