Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers reportedly want to bring Crystal Palace’s James McArthur to Ibrox, while Aston Villa and Cardiff City have also been linked with the Gers target.

Rangers are among the clubs linked with Crystal Palace central midfielder James McArthur, with The Daily Mail reporting last month that the Gers are interested in bringing the 30-year-old to Ibrox in the summer transfer window.
McArthur would be a very good signing for Rangers and would bring a wealth of experience to Steven Gerrard’s side at Ibrox.
Rangers, though, are not the only club who are reported to be interested in the Scotland international central midfielder, who started his professional club football career at Hamilton Academical before moving to Wigan Athletic in 2010 and then to Palace in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by The London Evening Standard to be worth £7 million.

Earlier this month, The Daily Mail reported that Premier League side Cardiff City and Championship club Aston Villa want to secure the services of McArthur, who earns £50,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com.
However, McArthur has suggested on social networking site Twitter that he will remain at Palace next season.
The midfielder made the following posts on Twitter after Palace’s 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion at Selhurst Park in their final Premier League game of the season on Sunday afternoon, which suggest that he is not planning to leave the Eagles this summer.
