Will new Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard keep Lee Hodson at Ibrox beyond this summer?

Rangers right-back Lee Hodson could and should be hoping that new manager Steven Gerrard does not hear about his latest performance on international duty.
The 26-year-old started Northern Ireland’s 3-0 defeat by Costa Rica on Sunday and didn’t cover himself in glory for the first goal.
Hodson, like so many of his Rangers team-mates, has a clean slate since a new manager was appointed at Ibrox, having only started seven games for the Gers in all competitions last season.
But is it possible that his error yesterday has already given him an uphill task with regards to impressing Gerrard?

One of the reasons why Hodson played so little football last season is because the fitness and form of James Tavernier, who was arguably the club’s best, most consistent performer.
But the Englishman is linked with a move away from Rangers this summer and a departure might have given the former Watford star – contracted to the Blues until 2019 – something of a second wind in Glasgow, if only until a replacement is signed.
However, his mistake on Sunday is unlikely to be lost on Gerrard, who might have been planning to ship him out anyway, but his gaffe hardly helps his chances of staying at Ibrox.
