Allardyce has admitted he’d have to consider the Everton manager’s job if approached.

Phil Brown appears to have provided an insight into Sam Allardyce’s stance on the Everton manager’s job.
Allardyce told BeIn Sports after Everton’s defeat against Leicester City – which kept the Toffees 18th in the Premier League – he would ‘have to consider that, if that phone-call happens’, despite having previously claimed he had no interest in a return to club management.
But Brown, who played under and worked alongside the former England manager at various clubs, suggested to Talksport on Tuesday that the unexpected chance to manage what he calls ‘one of the biggest clubs in the country’ could mean that Allardyce wants to job more than he’s letting on.

“This might be a challenge that he wasn’t expecting,” the Southend manager told the Hawksbee & Jacobs show (13:22). “He might find this a job offer that he can’t refuse at what is one of the biggest clubs in the country.”
And perhaps a bigger hint was to follow when, discussing Southend’s upcoming FA Cup tie against Yeovil, Brown said: “[We are going to] hopefully progress to the third round of the FA Cup, which is [where] the bigger boys come in… maybe Everton and Sam Allardyce.”
Allardyce, who has never been relegated as a Premier League manager, soared to the top of the bookies’ list of favourites for the Everton job, after his comments to BeIn Sports.
