Spartak Moscow have confirmed West Ham United’s interest in Alex Kral as the £10 million midfielder closes in on a move to the Premier League, as reported by Sport Express.
It looked as though one of English football’s longest-running transfer sagas had come to an end earlier this summer, West Ham seemingly dropping their interest in the poodle-haired Czech Republic international following his underwhelming performances at Euro 2020.
But, with less than 12 hours to go before the transfer window closes until next year, David Moyes’ Premier League pacesetters have suddenly returned to the table, pressing ahead with a deal that would see Kral join Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal at the London Stadium.
According to Metaratings, West Ham are closing in on the £10 million-rated Kral.
The hard-running 23-year-old is expected to arrive on loan, although the Hammers have yet to reach an agreement over whether the deal would include an ‘option-to-buy’ clause or an ‘obligation’ instead.
West Ham paid a cool £19 million for compatriot Soucek after a brilliant half-season spell in the English capital last year. If Kral could make a similar impact, he would be worth every penny.

“The club has offers for some of our players,” says Spartak spokesman Dmitry Zelenov when asked about West Ham’s interest in Kral.
“The one you mentioned (Kral) exists as one of the options, although the details are different.”
Kral has distanced himself from the speculation on numerous occasions during the summer, while Spartak director Anton Fetisov insisted the Russian giants would only consider a “very advantageous offer”.
