The West Ham United player who famously did a Homer Simpson celebration has just had a “Doh!” moment ahead of clashes against Swansea City and Burnley.

West Ham had turned a corner under David Moyes and reached the 30 point mark with a 2-0 win over Watford last month but now sit just three points above Swansea in the relegation zone ahead of a crucial six-pointer between the pair on Saturday.

A heavy 4-1 defeat to Liverpool last time out makes things hairy again for the Hammers in the increasingly congested Premier League dogfight.

There are big incentives for both teams ahead of the crucial clash. Carlos Carvalhal’s resurgent side can move level on points with the Hammers going into the run-in while West Ham can put a six-point gap between the two sides ahead of back-to-back home games against Burnley and Southampton.

But has Michail Antonio – the Hammers star famous for doing a Homer Simpson celebration – just had his very own “Doh!” moment with comments on the club’s official website that are sure to make the Swansea and Burnley team talks much easier.

“To be honest, every time I go on the field, I feel like the team is going for three points,” Antonio told whufc.com.

“I do feel we have got better players than Swansea and Burnley and we should be able to beat them, but it’s the Premier League and every game is different and every game is hard.

“There are no easy games, but I feel we can do it and that it should be six points.”

Given West Ham’s inconsistent form this season, Antonio needs to be careful as there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance.

Indeed many supporters have accused the players of becoming complacent since the club’s brilliant farewell season at the Boleyn Ground, something former manager Slaven Bilic publicly admitted was an issue.

Carvalhal and Dyche may well stick Antonio’s comments on the wall in their dressing rooms to make their team talks that bit easier.
