
John Terry may not be donning the colours of Chelsea anymore, but he certainly enjoyed life, a little bit more than usual, as Aston Villa beat Arsenal on Saturday.
For Aston Villa’s assistant coach, not only did he want his own team to secure all three points against Arsenal, but there seemed to be his inner-Chelsea who was enjoying that win against the North London outfit.
Chelsea supporters certainly noticed Terry’s celebration, as Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the game yesterday – his third in two games against the Gunners.
It came early on in the match and, from then on, Dean Smith’s side were then able to keep out Arsenal’s forward line from putting the ball past their former keeper, Emiliano Martinez.
There were some Chelsea supporters who even compared Terry’s celebration against Arsenal to the one against the Stamford Bridge club last season (or lack of celebration).
Either way, the soon-to-be manager, enjoyed Villa moving up the Premier League table yesterday.
It’s a real race for those European places heading into the final few months of the campaign, with Villa and Chelsea right amongst it.
Eighth-placed Villa are one point behind sixth-placed Chelsea, but the London club have played a game extra.
Chelsea have made a strong start to life under their new coach – Thomas Tuchel – but he has the likes of Villa, Everton and West Ham in and around him ready to upset the apple cart.
