Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino may just have hinted that Oliver Skipp could be handed his starting chance against Cardiff City.
Tottenham were beaten 3-1 by Wolverhampton Wanderers in their last outing, and Pochettino’s team finally showed some signs of fatigue.
Spurs have had a gruelling schedule of late, but they were in flying form before the weekend.
Tottenham had even taken the lead against Wolves, but as the game progressed it was clear that their energy levels had been hit.
Wolves scored three late goals to secure a win at Wembley, and Pochettino was unable to use Skipp as he wanted.
“Of course we started to feel it a few minutes before we conceded which is why we were ready to add a fresh player like Oliver Skipp to help the team and we couldn’t because we conceded in the action before we were going to make the change,” Pochettino admitted to Football.London.
Pochettino’s desire to utilise Skipp against Wolves may just point towards the youngster being handed a starting chance tomorrow.
Tottenham are going to need freshening up for the contest in Wales, as they have only had a matter of days to recover from their defeat to Wolves.
And Skipp could well be a beneficiary of the rotation, as the youngster has to be in with a strong chance of starting for Pochettino’s side now.
