The right-back has been heavily linked with Everton in recent months but there’s a completely new atmosphere at Hull City right now.

Egyptian international right-back Ahmed Elmohamady left for the African Cup of Nations in January with Hull City in a state of disarray. Mike Phelan had gone but the club were going nowhere fast, stuck to the bottom of the Premier League and haemorrhaging goals at an alarming rate.
Once he returned, however, The Tigers were a different beast entirely, the 29-year-old tells the Daily Mirror. They may be only two points ahead of bottom placed Sunderland but Marco Silva has introduced optimism and organisation as well as inspiring wins against Liverpool in the league and Manchester United in the EFL Cup.
“Everything has changed,” Elmohamady told the Daily Mirror. “We had the week in Portugal with everyone together and that was good to see the manager’s systems. It’s different to before.
“To be honest, everyone looks comfortable. There’s a lot of confidence at the minute. The results we’ve had in the last month have given the players, the fans, and people around the club confidence to stay positive and look forward to games.”
The upbeat nature of the former Sunderland full-back’s comments perhaps sums up the new-found spirit under Silva at the KCom Stadium. So much so that his departure from the club at the end of the season now feels a lot less inevitable.

Elmohamady told DMC Sports earlier in the season that he had received an offer from Everton in the summer and, according to the Yorkshire Post, The Toffees were still interested in making a £4 million bid in January while reports continue to suggest that they are in the market for a new fullback.
However, if Hull are able to pull off a great escape that even Sunderland would struggle to achieve this season, what’s to stop Elmohamady committing his future to the club long-term?

He certainly doesn’t sound like a man anchoring for a move.
