Crystal Palace may find their chances of signing Soualiho Meité a little bit tougher.

Liverpool’s big money signing of Fabinho could have knock on effects for Crystal Palace.
The Reds last night announced the signing of the Brazilian midfielder, with The Telegraph reporting the fee to be £43.7 million.
The impressive move could be bad news for Crystal Palace’s interest in signing Soualiho Meité.

The midfielder is currently under contract to Monaco, and is set to benefit from Fabinho’s exit.
Monaco signed Meite from Lille just last summer, but could not offer him regular football last season so sent him out on loan to Bordeaux.

Meite made 19 appearances for Bordeaux and will return to Monaco hopeful he can challenge for a first team place.
Perhaps Monaco will seek to cash in while there is interest, but it makes sense for them to hand him an opportunity, seeing as he was bought with a view to replacing Fabinho in case of an exit.
That has now happened, and Crystal Palace’s hopes of persuading the Ligue 1 side to sell could be a little tougher than they were.
