Is the coast clear for Tottenham Hotspur over Christian Eriksen?

Christian Eriksen’s hat-trick for Denmark last year against Ireland saw the Tottenham Hotspur playmaker showered with praise from all directions.
The attacker was subsequently linked with a big money move to Barcelona, a club he has expressed admiration for.
The Sun reported in November that Barcelona had made him their top target for January – now proven to be incorrect after their £142 million swoop for Liverpool’s Coutinho.

For Barcelona, it was always going to be either or with regard to Coutinho or Eriksen.
Liverpool caving in and letting Coutinho leave has taken the pressure off Tottenham, and pretty much eradicates the chances of Barcelona swooping for the Dane this summer, or even the year after.
So is the coast clear for Spurs?
If not Barcelona, there are only two clubs with the finances who could possibly tempt Tottenham into a mega money sale, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

But unlike Barcelona, Eriksen has not professed his desire to one day play for either, and the attacker would be more inclined to stay put.
Real are likely to spend big this summer after falling heavily behind Barcelona this season, but Tottenham will be wary of doing business with the Spanish giants, especially as Eriksen heading there would only encourage them to push for a link up with Harry Kane too.
As it stands, the Coutinho sale appears to have done Tottenham Hotspur a big favour, and they should be confident of hanging onto Eriksen this summer.
