Leeds United managing director Angus Kinnear has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he hopes for something special on their penultimate game of the 2018-19 season against Aston Villa.

The West Yorkshire outfit will take on Villa at Elland Road in their penultimate match of the 2018-19 Championship campaign.

Kinnear told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “You have to play everyone twice and there are no easy fixtures.

“I look towards the end of the season as well and hope there might be something special when we play Aston Villa at home on the penultimate game.”

Tempting fate?

Leeds will be aiming to clinch a place in the Championship playoffs next season, and with Marcelo Bielsa being appointed the club’s head coach, there is buzz and optimistic among the fans.

However, has Kinnear tempted fate with his aforementioned comments? After all, Leeds have not featured in the Premier League since 2004 and endured a very disappointing season in 2017-18.
