The striker has been in scintillating form for his current team.
Dominic Poleon (L)
Dominic Poleon’s Elland Road departure in 2014 was met with some confusion amongst Leeds United supporters, and given his current run of form, it appears that that confusion was completely justified.
In a transfer window that had already seen both Ross McCormack and Matt Smith leave the Whites for Fulham, United, perhaps bizarrely, left the door open for the academy graduate to join Oldham Athletic.
Poleon, during his time with Oldham
Though his record of three goals in 29 league games for the Peacocks is not overly impressive, it must be remembered that he started just three of those games and was often considered to be something of a wildcard option.
If he had been given the chance, it seems likely that the 23-year-old would have developed into a much better player, and one that could have perhaps contributed as the side looked to get themselves out of the second tier.

And while he has now dropped down a division, he is starting to show that he may have had the potential to shine for the Yorkshire side.
Poleon joined AFC Wimbledon in the summer. And like during his time with Leeds, he has begun more games on the substitutes’ bench than in the starting line-up, but that has not stopped him enjoying a wonderful run of form.

In his last seven games in all competitions, he has scored six times. And while some will remain unconvinced about his ability given the level he is currently playing at, there have been several players who have proved that they are capable of scoring at any level.
And with Marcus Antonsson being the only forward other than top scorer Chris Wood to find the back of the net in the league this season – the Swede has scored just once – those Leeds fans who were disappointed to see Poleon go may feel that he may have had something to offer this season had he stayed put and continued his development with Leeds.
