Luke Garbutt was not included in Everton’s squad for Wednesday night’s win over Leicester City.

Sam Allardyce was able to recall Luke Garbutt to his Everton squad on Wednesday night to face Leicester City but decided to overlook the Toffees outcast, as his side earned a 2-1 win at Goodison Park.
Theo Walcott grabbed a brace to cancel out Jamie Vardy’s penalty in order to ensure all three points, but Cuco Martina remained as Allardyce’s choice at left-back despite being right-footed, with Leighton Baines still injured.
Garbutt, 24, was left out of Ronald Koeman’s 25-man Premier League squad in the summer, meaning he could not feature in any league games until this month.

Premier League sides are allowed to submit temporary squads in January in order to include new signings in their side, before clubs them re-submit another squad list for the second half of the 2017-18 campaign.
With Wednesday night being Garbutt’s last chance to earn a place in Allardyce’s 18-man squad, surely the likelihood of him earning a place in the overall 25-man squad has completely diminished.
Garbutt did gain a place in the provisional 20-strong list to face West Bromwich Albion earlier this month but the signing of Eliaquim Mangala will surely push the former Leeds United left-back further down the pecking order.

If Garbutt is left out of the squad, then surely he must begin to consider his next move in a career that has already taken a huge descending spiral that will be difficult to recover from.
The England youth international could look to mutually terminate his contract, or indeed continue with Everton’s Under-23 side and look to secure a move in the summer.
Although it is unclear if he has been included, surely his Leicester omission has ruled out the chance of a recall.
