No Everton player did themselves any credit in the 6-2 home defeat by Tottenham.

Yet one had more to lose than others.

Loanee Kurt Zouma does not have a permanent place at the club and his performance is a big checkmark against his chances of staying at Goodison Park.

The Chelsea loanee was caught out of position repeatedly as Tottenham ran rampant, scoring six times, and it could have been more.

Zouma has started Everton’s last three league games, in which they have conceded 10 goals.

There have also been rumours that Everton could send Mason Holgate out on loan, SkySports report.

Everton should reconsider that and think about elevating him back above Zouma in the pecking order.

Zouma does not look to have much of a future at Chelsea and is likely to be available at the end of the season. However his performance yesterday has reduced his chances of landing a move to Everton.
