The Celtic defender has rarely been used this season and others are more deserving of a run-out this month.

With the Scottish Premiership wrapped up, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has the chance to give some of his fringe players a runout between now and the end of the campaign, but could one Bhoys player have already featured for the last time in the club’s shirt?
Kolo Toure has only managed 15 appearances in all competitions this season, with just seven of those coming in the league, and given that his contract expires at the end of the campaign there is little reason to give him any more minutes.
Instead, Rodgers should look to blood some of Celtic’s young players, rewarding those who recently won the Scottish Youth Cup rather than wasting time playing a veteran nearing the end of their career.
It may be a disappointing way for Toure to bow out of Scottish football but it would be more beneficial for Celtic if they moved on now, rather than next season.

Toure’s signing was risk-free given the length of his contract and the other players at Rodgers’ disposal. But in hindsight the player may look back and wonder if it was the best use of his time.
Still, at 36 he got a few more matches under his belt, answered a call to action from his former Liverpool manager and can leave as a champion.
