West Ham United’s Joao Mario may already have elevated himself to David Moyes’ number one summer target.

Mario joined West Ham on loan from Inter Milan in the January transfer window, and he has made a very positive start at the London Stadium.

The Portuguese international has impressed with his first few performances, and already looks ideally suited to English football.

Joao Mario’s creativity has come to the fore in recent weeks, with Marko Arnautovic and Manuel Lanzini sidelined.

The 25-year-old has been thrown in at the deep end by Moyes, but he has coped well so far.

And West Ham should already be considering bringing him to London on a more permanent basis when the transfer window re-opens.

Football.London have suggested that the Hammers have not included a clause in Joao Mario’s contract which allows them to buy him for a set fee.

But the Hammers should already be considering the prospect of making Joao Mario’s loan move a more long-term switch, as if he continues to perform at his current level, he will be a great addition.
