Red hard happy Gaetano Berardi may have outstayed his welcome at Leeds.

Gaetano Berardi’s red card in Leeds’ play-off defeat came as no surprise at all.
The Swiss defender was dismissed for a second booking, and Leeds conceded a crucial fourth goal to Derby minutes later.
It is not the first time Berardi has let Leeds down in this regard, but it should be the last.
Signed under Massimo Cellino in 2014, Berardi has been a surprise success.
He has outlasted his fellow signings and managed to win over fans with his passion and attitude.
The same attributes which have helped him, have also been his downfall.

The red card against Derby was the seventh of Berardi’s career at Leeds.
Leeds fell short this season, and need to look at areas to improve. Defence is one of them.
Berardi has missed much of the season with fitness issues, and his disciplinary problems could be the final straw.
Leeds need to upgrade, and Berardi is on the verge of becoming a liability. Some fans would say he is already there.
