Andy Lonergan is fit to return to Leeds United’s squad.

Paul Heckingbottom confirmed on Wednesday that Leeds United goalkeeper Andy Lonergan has been back in training for the past week, having missed over a month due to a neck injury.
It seems like the Leeds boss could bring him back into the squad for Friday’s visit of Bolton Wanderers but with Bailey Peacock-Farrell impressing in recent weeks, perhaps Lonergan will have to settle for a spot on the bench.
If Heckingbottom names him in the squad then it could be considered an indication over who he feels are his best two goalkeepers and therefore Leeds fans might have already seen the last of Felix Wiedwald.
The error-prone German was dropped for Peacock-Farrell in the 3-0 defeat by Wolves earlier this month and has had to settle for a place on the bench in the subsequent two games.

But with Lonergan now fit, the 28-year-old, a £500,000 summer signing from Werder Bremen, looks set to drop out of the matchday squad entirely and it seems unlikely that he’ll win his spot back.
United will surely look to offload Wiedwald this summer after a disastrous first season at Elland Road. He has had countless chances to impress and, barring a few good games, has blown it for the most part.
Being replaced by Lonergan tomorrow would indicate that Wiedwald will probably spend what could and should be his last few months at Thorp Arch in exile.
