Premier League giants Everton sent a scout to watch charlton Athletic youngster Ezri Konsa in action against Blackburn Rovers in League One.

One year after Everton completed the signing of Ademola Lookman, The Toffees look set to raid Charlton Athletic again for their latest fresh-faced teenage talent.
According to the Liverpool Echo, The Toffees’ chief scout Martyn Glover travelled to Ewood Park on Saturday to watch Charlton’s narrow 2-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers – and it was The Addicks highly-rated centre-back who was the reason for his visit.
Konsa, who helped England win the Under-20 World Cup this summer, is admired by Everton boss Sam Allardyce and the 63-year-old hopes to get the deal done in January with other clubs, including Arsenal, circling.

And, despite Charlton going down 2-0, the 20-year-old’s performance against Blackburn will have left Everton in no doubt about why Addicks boss Karl Robinson claimed that Konsa is “the best young centre-back in the country, fact,”, as reported by The Sun.
Like fellow Valley graduate Joe Gomez, Konsa is a player with maturity well beyond his years. He is a classy and intelligent defender – epitomised against Blackburn as he chased down Joe Nutall and produced a perfectly timed goal saving challenge with the score still 1-0.

Though Konsa did not have a perfect evening in Lancashire, giving the ball away once or twice and looking shaky on occasions, there were enough signs to suggest that this is a boy with real talent.
So if Everton fans can overlook the odd moment of youthful naivety, chief scout Glover should provide Allardyce and co with a glowing recommendation.
