A ten minute Tottenham capitulation against West Ham on Sunday evening has seemingly overshadowed a quite brilliant and all-round performance by Harry Kane.
It was acknowledged by Spurs legend Micky Hazard, who stated on Twitter that the England man ‘has everything’ in his locker, as he praised him for his defensive work yesterday and the magic he produced in the final third.
After scoring a brace and setting up Heung-Min Son for the opener, as the first-half was coming to a close, Kane found himself flying in and blocking a shot in his own penalty box.
Hazard joked on Twitter that he’s glad Kane remembers everything he ‘taught’ him, as the striker turned playmaker showcased his centre-back qualities also.
Kane’s first-half performance against West Ham was perhaps one of the best individual displays from a player in the Premier League this season.
Whether he was showcasing his shooting ability, attacking movement in the penalty area, ability to find the pockets of space, picking out Son at will or turning into Eric Dier, he proved that he has perhaps been the best player so far this season.
But all of that was flattened by a quite thrilling comeback from West Ham, with Manuel Lanzini scoring a stoppage-time equaliser of a lifetime from outside the area.
Whilst Spurs and Jose Mourinho will be bitterly disappointed with how they dropped points yesterday, they will know that’s not a regular occurrence, but Kane ripping opposition defences is.
