Everton boss Ronald Koeman says he wants to emulate Tottenham Hotspur’s success.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman’s comments to the Daily Mirror about Tottenham Hotspur, may have just given a clue as to his own transfer plans at Goodison Park.
Koeman has praised Mauricio Pochettino’s work at Tottenham, claiming that they have surpassed both Arsenal and Manchester United now.
The Dutch boss feels that Tottenham’s transfer approach is one which Everton can emulate in the years ahead.
“The best example for us is a club like Tottenham – many years trying to be part of the big teams and now, in my opinion, Tottenham is maybe stronger than Arsenal and is stronger than Manchester United is,” Koeman said.
“They have signed a lot of good young players for long term. I think it’s a really good way how they work under Pochettino. I think he is doing a fantastic job at Tottenham.”
The similarities between Everton’s and Tottenham’s strategies in the transfer window have already been evident.
Everton have brought in the likes of Ademola Lookman and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the lower leagues recent times, and Koeman has given them chances in the Toffees’ first-team.
Everton have a batch of very exciting prospects breaking through, and appear to have a bright future.
The Toffees are currently in seventh place in the Premier League table, but still have an outside chance of breaking into the top four this term.
