Nottingham Forest and Swansea City are both in need of new strikers and FC Groningen talisman Mimoun Mahi looks primed for a move.

The January transfer window couldn’t come around any sooner for Nottingham Forest.
The 3-0 Boxing Day defeat to Sheffield Wednesday was the latest in a worrying series of displays from Mark Warburton’s side and, while their porous backline remains the obvious problem, a lack of quality in the final third has also emerged as an underlying issue.
Daryl Murphy is the top scoring striker in Forest’s squad as things stand – and he is hardly in prolific form with just one goal in his last ten games.

So with Groningen forward Mimoun Mahi admitting that he might have played his last game in the Eredivisie ahead of a January exit, this could be music to the ears of Forest.
“I need a new step, a new environment. I’m certainly open to a transfer,” Mahi said in quotes reported by De Telegraaf.
According to The Sun, the Moroccan international was on Nottingham Forest’s radar and, with a £2 million buyout clause in his contract, would not cost an arm and a leg. A speedy and creative attacker who has evolved from a winger into a ruthless centre-forward, the 23-year-old has scored six Eredivisie goals this season despite missing a number of games due to disciplinary issues.

The report also pointed out that Swansea City, who have been linked since last January, are keen to renew their interest in the New Year. Considering that The Swans are the Premier League’s lowest goalscorers with just ten to their name so far in 2017/18, it is pretty obvious why the impressive Mahi would be on their shopping list too.
But if Nottingham Forest want to bring a new striker to the City Ground, it seems that Mahi would be up for talks.
