Enner Valencia is currently on loan at Everton from West Ham United.
Ronald Koeman has previously suggested that he is undecided over whether Everton should move to sign Enner Valencia on a permanent deal from West Ham United in the summer, but the Ecuadorian’s performance against Chelsea may have helped make his mind up.
Valencia was handed a rare start for Everton against the Premier League leaders, and although Koeman’s side fell to a 3-0 defeat, the rapid attacker impressed.
Valencia was a constant menace to Chelsea’s backline, and Koeman praised him highly following the contest.
“He did well,” the Dutch boss said to the Liverpool Echo. “He was running, making it really difficult and winning headers
“Maybe he needed a little bit more control in his last pass to Romelu [Lukaku], then we could have created a bigger chance than we did.
“But he was dangerous, he was working hard, he was part of the team and that’s good.”
Valencia’s performance will certainly have done his chances at staying at Everton no harm.
West Ham and Everton are believed to have a deal agreed at a set price, should Koeman want to make the transfer permanent at the end of the season.
Everton are yet to activate this clause, but Koeman may decide that Valencia would be a worthwhile addition.
Valencia has made 21 Premier League appearances for the Toffees this season, and he has scored on three occasions.
