It’s obvious that Celtic’s hopes of 10-in-a-row could hinge on what Odsonne Edouard does this summer.
The French hitman fired the Hoops to a ninth successive Premiership title last month, scoring 22 league goals along the way.
But now all the talk is centering around whether Celtic will have the 22-year-old up front next season, for the big one.
According to The Mirror, Arsenal are interested in signing the former PSG starlet, a £9 million signing by the Bhoys in 2018.
But has Edouard just hinted that he intends to stick around?
Speaking to Celtic’s official website, the striker, who’s in discussions about a new contract according to Neil Lennon, said this: “Every season we want to win the title. This year is nine in-a-row, and next year I hope it is 10 in-a-row. This will be historic for the club.
“It’s very important for the club, for the fans, for the team, for all of the staff. We now need to go back to work for next season, and I hope that we can win this title for 10 in-a-row.”
You can’t read too much into it one way or the other, because things can change in football very quickly and especially during the summer, but it does perhaps sound like the player himself is on board for 10-in-a-row at the moment.
Plus, with Lennon confirming contract talks last week, would there even be anything to negotiate if Edouard was determined to leave Glasgow? Probably not.
