Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia has started 17 games for Dean Smith’s side this season.

And the idea of selling Kodjia to re-invest the funds elsewhere may actually appeal to Smith.
“We need a good balance in terms of our squad,” Smith said last week.
“We’re quite top heavy, we’ve got four centre forwards here but we’re only playing one up front with Tammy.
“We’ve got four who would probably play for most other teams in the Championship.
“We need to balance that squad a bit better and I think everyone knows we’ve been light at the back and this window gives us the opportunity.”

Kodjia retains a fair amount of Villa for value, and would surely fetch a sizeable fee if he was put up for sale.
The Ivorian has been a rotational option of late, and has only made 17 league starts this season.
While Kodjia is still a good option for Villa, if they could sell him and bring in more defensive recruits, it could be a smart plan.
And, given Smith’s recent comments, it seems that Kodjia’s departure from Villa Park this month is a real possibility.
