David Unsworth has still only won one match during his time in temporary charge of Everton.

Unsworth took charge of Everton again last night, as his side faced Atalanta in the Europa League.
The Toffees were beaten 5-1 by Atalanta, and their performance during the contest was alarming.
Unsworth’s chances of landing the job on a permanent basis may have been damaged by the heavy defeat.

However, the caretaker boss is clearly already thinking about his team selection for the weekend, when Everton take on Southampton at St. Mary’s.
“I asked the players to make it difficult for me to leave them out and the majority have made it easy for me,” Unsworth said.
Unsworth can be forgiven for expecting to be in charge at the weekend, given the length of Everton’s search for Ronald Koeman’s replacement.

The Toffees have had weeks to find a successor to the Dutchman, but have been unable to get a deal over the line.
Everton have targeted both Sam Allardyce and Marco Silva, both managers have proven problematic to bring to St. James’ Park.
The Toffees are currently sat in 16th place in the Premier League table, with relegation concerns rising by the game.
