West Ham United boss David Moyes has intimated to The Daily Mail that he might be willing to stay in East London for the long term.

The Telegraph reported last Monday that the Scot was likely to walk away from West Ham at the end of this season, regardless of whether the Irons avoid relegation or not.

It added that the Hammers’ co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold were already searching for a new manager, though Sullivan refuted that in recent days.

Moyes is only on a six-month contract at West Ham since replacing Slaven Bilic in November and the former Everton boss has proven a wonderful appointment thus far, with United four points above the drop zone in 12th.

He knows a thing or two about drastically improving a Premier League side, following a successful 11-year spell at Everton until 2013, and although Moyes is game for trying to do the same with West Ham, the 54-year-old concedes that he might not get the time in which to do so.

“It took me years to build Everton up and in the end I got a job which I thought would make thing easier to win cups and trophies,” he told The Mail.

“I’m happy to do that again but I don’t know if I’d get the time to build up West Ham that I got at Everton.”
