West Ham United completed the signing of Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen on Monday evening.
As announced on the Hammers’ official website, the 29-year-old striker has put pen to paper on a three-year deal and has cost £16 million in transfer fees.
The former Guadalajara and Manchester United striker is the fourth major player to join West Ham this summer.
Argentine right-back Pablo Zabaleta has moved to West Ham on a free transfer following his departure from Manchester City at the end of the 2016-17 season.
Marko Arnautovic, who can operate as a forward or as a winger, has arrived from Stoke City, while England international goalkeeper Joe Hart has made the switch on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City.
West Ham co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to thank fellow chairman David Sullivan and manager Slaven Bilic among others for making the transfers happen.
Gold has also appeared to suggested that the Hammers’ transfer activity in terms of signing players is over. After all, his following message on Twitter would be premature if the club were still planning to bring in more players.
