Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Liverpool’s Danny Ings.

Danny Ings may just have become Newcastle United’s most likely strike-target, after Rafael Benitez has decided not to deal with relegation rivals.

Newcastle have been linked with both Watford’s Troy Deeney and West Ham United’s Diafra Sakho in the Chronicle recently.

However, the Daily Mirror claims that Benitez has made the conclusion that he does not want to do business with relegation rivals.

Newcastle realise that any of the teams involved in the Premier League’s survival fight are unlikely to help out one of their competitors and will demand a high price.

As a result, it could mean that Liverpool’s Ings has now become Newcastle’s most likely signing.

Liverpool are gunning for a place in the top four, and loaning out Ings could suit them, as it would Newcastle.

And all signs seem to suggest that Ings will become Newcastle’s most likely strike target, if Benitez’s current stance regarding transfers remains the same.
