Tottenham Hotspur have failed to do any major transfer business so far this summer?

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy’s stance over Jack Grealish and Toby Alderweireld may have backfired, as the summer transfer window edges closer to closing.
Tottenham are yet to complete a signing so far this summer, and Alderweireld still remains at the club.
Spurs surely were not planning to have left their major business so late this summer, with Mauricio Pochettino even going on record to state that he wanted additions before the World Cup.
However, Levy’s hard-ball tactics, which so often work in Tottenham’s favour, may not have been so successful this summer.
Spurs appear to have missed out on a transfer for Alderweireld, with Manchester United now looking elsewhere.

United have been linked with Harry Maguire recently, and the Daily Star now claims that Spurs are thinking about reducing the price that they are asking for for Alderweireld.
Spurs, meanwhile, could also face missing out on Grealish – as Villa’s financial situation looks much healthier now.
Steve Bruce publicly stated that Villa’s new owners have told him that he no longer needs to sell Grealish.
And Spurs face paying big money for the attacking midfielder now, after Levy refused to pay up for the creator when Villa desperately needed the funds earlier on in the transfer window.
