Spurs have struck up a strong relationship with the Tigers in recent seasons, going back to selling them Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore and Michael Dawson.
Two of the trio still remain at Hull, and last summer Tottenham and Hull agreed another deal, with Ryan Mason agreeing a big money transfer.
The London Evening Standard report that this working relationship between the two clubs has left Tottenham hopeful of striking a deal for the outstanding centre-back.

The transfers have so far been one sided between Spurs and Hull, but now the North London side are in a position to sign the Tigers’ prize asset.
