Arsenal fans have been left frustrated and disappointed after a Lukasz Fabianski howler on Monday night ensured that Liverpool’s unbeaten run continued.

During the Premier League era, Arsenal are the only side to have gone an entire season unbeaten, and during West Ham’s clash at Anfield on Monday night, it seemed as though that record was going to stand.

The Hammers, who are sitting in the Premier League’s relegation zone, were surprisingly leading 2-1 in the second half against Jurgen Klopp’s men, but a howler from ex-Arsenal man, Fabianski, brought the home team back into the game.

Mo Salah’s tame shot from inside the area went straight to the Hammers keeper, but the ball ended up going through his legs, which would have frustrated many neutral fans across the country. 

Everyone is aware that the Premier League title is heading to Anfield, but it’s a case of what records they are going to demolish along the way, not forgetting they have already smashed many records.

It isn’t a surprise that the Arsenal faithful don’t want the Reds to go unbeaten because that 2003/04 campaign under Arsene Wenger is something that lives long in the memory of their fans and something that they can, in this era, claim as their own. 

That is why they were left frustrated with Fabianski, who the North London club sold in 2014 to Swansea, as he has since moved to the London Stadium.
