Lewis Morgan has struggled on loan at St Mirren since officially joining Celtic.

On-loan Celtic talent Lewis Morgan stole the show for St Mirren this past weekend by scoring one and settinng up two more in a 3-1 Championship win away to Queen of the South.
Morgan joined Celtic in a £300,000 deal in January but was immediately loaned back to the Buddies.
But prior to his heroics on Saturday, the 21-year-old attacker’s form definitely dipped and it’s interesting to wonder whether it was because he had one eye on arriving at Parkhead this summer.

Before joining Brendan Rodgers’s side, Morgan had nine goals and four assists under his belt in the Championship, but he has only managed to score once in the eight games since the deal was announced.
Fortunately, St Mirren’s form hasn’t been affected by Morgan’s, with Jack Ross’s side winning six of those eight games and looking certain to win automatic promotion to the Premiership.
Morgan’s form won’t be a huge concern to Celtic, and there is every chance that his stand-out performance at the weekend will be the catalyst for another purple patch.
But considering that his numbers have dwindled since sealing his move, it seems probable that Morgan – released by Rangers as a 16-year-old – has been affected by his imminent move away.
