Leeds owner surely can’t ignore threadbare defensive options.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa laid the club’s thin defensive options bare with his team selection against York City.
Bielsa is known for his experimental strategy and tactics, but playing two midfielders and a full-back as a back three was pushing it just a little bit, with Laurens De Bock, Mateusz Klich, and Ronaldo Vieira featuring.
Leeds had played another friendly two games earlier reducing their options, while Pontus Jansson is still on World Cup related holiday absence.
Over the course of a 46 game Championship season plus cup competitions, Leeds’ squad is going to be stretched.

What Bielsa showed last night, was that the squad is not strong enough, and unsurprisingly they failed to keep a clean sheet against their non-league opponents.
Bielsa’s team selection was a demonstration that he can innovate and find solutions to problems, but it was also a message to Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani, than more defensive options are required.
Time is running out for permanent additions in the transfer market, and last night showed they are needed more than ever.
