Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been in great form for the past three seasons. The number of goals the England international has scored in the Premier League already suggests that he is destined for greatness.

Kane has scored 78 goals in the Premier League so far. Given that the Englishman is only 23 years of age and has been playing regular top-flight for around three years, the signs are very encouraging in terms of catching Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer.

Former Newcastle and Blackburn Rovers striker Shearer scored as many as 260 goals in the Premier League. Kane has told PremierLeague.com that he wants to break that record, but it seems that Shearer is not too convinced.

The former Southampton striker has suggested on Twitter that like many others before him, Kane could fail to break Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.

There is a long way for Kane before he can realistically start thinking about breaking Shearer’s record, but if he carries on scoring goals like the way he has done over the past three years, then he could certainly achieve that feat.
