Signing for Celtic from Inverness back in 2015, Ryan Christie’s career in a green and white shirt has taken a while to get started. Undeniably talented, the young midfielder found himself out of Brendan Rodgers’ plans for this season, joining Aberdeen on loan in January.

Since arriving at The Dons, Christie has been impressing with a number of strong performances. A recent goal in Aberdeen’s 2-3 win in the Scottish Cup against Hibernian highlighted the midfielder’s eye for goal, and skill from set pieces. So could he be in with a chance of first team football at Celtic Park next season?

When he does return to Celtic Park, the 22-year-old midfielder will be faced with some real tough competition when it comes to getting into Brendan Rodgers’ side. Players like Stuart Armstrong and Callum McGregor have been impressive this season.

However, Ryan Christie could well offer something different. Though not necessarily prolific in front of goal, the young midfielder offers an excellent passing ability, as well as a talent from set-pieces. Quick and tricky, Ryan Christie will likely offer another dimension to Celtic’s midfield next season.

With Aberdeen fighting for second, and the race for the Scottish Premiership now over, plenty of Celtic fans may well be looking to keep an eye on Ryan Christie’s form between now and the end of the season.

With Champions League football awaiting them yet again next season, Brendan Rodgers will likely be delighted to watch young Ryan Christie improve, as he looks to strengthen his side for another tough season as Champions of Scotland.
