Liverpool’s exciting youngster Harvey Elliott has been busy on social media, with the 20-year-old sending a message to Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill about a potential move to Anfield in the summer transfer window.
The Englishman replied on Twitter to a post by the Chelsea defender, who was out on loan with Brighton and Hove Albion last season.
On Colwill’s post about him featuring in England’s U21 game in the UEFA Euro u21 Championship semi-final win against Israel, Elliott commented: “Let’s have a chat.”
This has, unsurprisingly, got Liverpool fans talking about the possibility of the centre-back, who was superb under Roberto De Zerbi last season, potentially making the move to Anfield.
He could partner Virgil Van Dijk or Ibrahim Konate, dependent on Jurgen Klopp’s ideas for next season, as Liverpool aim to regain their spot in the top 4.
Earlier this month, 90min reported that Liverpool have made two enquires for the defender, but Chelsea have dismissed them both and want to keep him for next season.
What would Levi Colwill bring to Liverpool?
The 20-year-old was a sensation under De Zerbi last season and he would be exactly the type of defender that Klopp’s men should be targeting.

With 17 appearances to his name on the South Coast, Colwill may take a season or two to adapt to the rigours of Premier League football, but nevertheless, his qualities are evident.
His technical ability is there for everyone to see.
According to FBREF, a statistical website, he ranks highly in terms of progressive passes (5.16 per 90) and progressive carries (1.18 per 90).
In a possession-based side like Liverpool, Colwill would be a superb acquisition who could potentially be the long-term replacement for 31-year-old Virgil Van Dijk.
Whether his parent club Chelsea would sell him remains to be seen. New blues boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a big fan of the English defender, and there is hope that the defender will remain at Stamford Bridge for the upcoming season.
If Chelsea were to sell him, which seems unlikely, it would be to Brighton and not Liverpool, due to Chelsea not wanting to strengthen a rival.
