Harvey Elliott has posted on Instagram that it’s ‘another day closer’ for his possible Liverpool return.
The 18-year-old suffered a serious ankle injury in September and is now on the long road back to recovery for Liverpool.
Elliott posted on Instagram several pictures of him doing some strength work and lightly walking on softer ground.
Of course, he is a long way off returning to action, but it’s pretty good to see that the player himself is in an uplifting mood.
This would have been Elliott’s first real setback of his career and it would have come at a time when he was just starting to motor on Merseyside.
Jurgen Klopp had put faith in the teenager early on in the season and he wasn’t shy to place his talents in the big games.
The former Blackburn loanee was starting to build a strong relationship down that right-hand side, with Mo Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
But that all-action and effortlessly-worked attacking viewing will have to be put on hold for now, before it can be showcased once again.
Instead, Elliott will have to watch on from afar as the Reds are in Champions League action against Atletico Madrid tonight.
Klopp’s men have a 100% start to their European campaign and another three points will allow them to make an early passage through to the knockout stages.
