West Brom suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Middlesbrough away from home at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship on Friday evening.
Daniel Ayala’s goal in the first minute of injury time proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Barnes, who joined West Brom on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Leicester in the summer transfer window, started the match and played for 69 minutes.
The 20-year-old England Under-20 international midfielder has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the defeat.

West Brom will return to actin on Tuesday evening when they take on Mansfield Town at The Hawthorns in the Carabao Cup.
Darren Moore’s side will then lock horns with Stoke City at home in the Championship next weekend.
Both West Brom and Stoke were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.
