West Brom suffered a 1-0 defeat to Wigan away from home at the DW Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
Josh Windass’s goal in the 74th minute proved to be the difference between the Latics and the Baggies.
Barnes, who joined West Brom from Premier League club Leicester in the summer transfer window, started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The England Under-21 international midfielder has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment at the defeat for the Baggies, with some West Brom fans responding to his message on the social networking site.

The defeat to Wigan means that West Brom are now third in the Championship table with 24 points from 13 matches.
The Baggies will return to action on Wednesday evening when they take on Derby County at The Hawthorns in the Premier League.
