New Tottenham Hotspur signing Joe Hart has told the club’s official website that Hugo Lloris is among the world’s best goalkeepers, and he can’t wait to work with him.
Hart is expected to come in as Lloris’s understudy at Tottenham.
The England international has penned a two-year contract with Jose Mourinho’s side.
And he feels that he can help Lloris on the training ground, as he will push him hard for his starting spot.
“I am here to work as a team player. I’m a team player, always have been, always will be,” Hart said.
“Whether my name is on the team sheet or not, it’s a squad effort.
“I know what it takes to win titles, I know what it change a club’s dynamic for the better.
“I have huge admiration for Hugo, one of the world’s greatest goalkeepers. I’m excited to work with him, push him and learn from him.”
Hart has suffered a difficult few years, but was once regarded as one of the Premier League’s finest goalkeepers.
His first task at Tottenham may well be to displace Paulo Gazzaniga as the club’s number two choice.
Gazzaniga has provided solid back-up to Lloris in recent seasons, so there are no guarantees that Hart will even be on Tottenham’s bench when the season starts up.
If Hart can help improve Lloris’s game even further then that should be great news for Spurs.
Lloris has actually been one of Tottenham’s most reliable performers since Mourinho took charge, with his form very strong after the Premier League’s restart.
