At least, that’s the impression given by a number of Wolverhampton Wanderers supporters after the news broke that Nouha Dicko has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract at Molineux, as reported by the Express and Star.
Yes, the bare facts don’t look great. Dicko’s most recent league goals in Wolves colours came all the way back on the final game of the 2014/15 season and, in 17 barren games this season, he has only mustered 19 shots on goal.
However, that doesn’t take into account the cruciate ligament injury that left him on the sidelines for over a year. Or the fact that, in the season before last, he plundered 14 Championship goals with six assists to boot as part of a thrilling strike partnership with Bakary Sako.

Paul Lambert has maintained his belief that Dicko will, once again, rediscover the golden touch that made him one of the most feared forwards outside of the top flight. And, fortunately, most Wolves fans feel the same. Or at least they probably should. Right?
