Tottenham Hotspur have more than one brilliant young midfielder on their books.

When you speak to Tottenham Hotspur fans about the next big thing at the club, all talk turns to Marcus Edwards.
That is no surprise considering the young midfielder has been making waves in Spurs’ academy for years now and his innate talent is clear to see for anyone who pays attention.

Such is Edwards’ promise that he is often compared to Lionel Messi, but Tottenham could also have their own version of Xavi in the form of Harry Winks.
It is a bold statement, and one that will no doubt be quickly dismissed by some Spurs fans, yet Winks is the real deal; a gifted, confident player with the air of someone considerably older.

You only had to see how he calmed the play when he came off the bench against CSKA Moscow in their recent Champions League clash to know what he can offer, and those who have been watching him develop over the years know Tottenham have another gem in their ranks.
With composure, great ball retention and distribution and the confidence to beat his man, Winks has many of the same hallmarks as the legendary Spaniard, and if both he and Edwards live up to the hype as expected, Tottenham could have their own version of the Barcelona duo bossing opponents for years to come.
