Chris Sutton has said on BT Sport 1 (6:39pm, October 21, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Harry Winks looks a shadow of himself now.

Sutton made the comments about Winks after watching him in action for Tottenham against Vitesse in the Europa Conference League this evening.

The former Chelsea striker was not impressed by the 25-year-old’s performance in the first half.

Spurs lost 1-0 to Vitesse away from home.

Sutton said about Winks on BT Sport 1 (6:39pm, October 21, 2021): “For Harry Winks now his Tottenham career is in the balance. It’s a simple case of does he want to be there or doesn’t he?

“And even if he wants away, go and show your potential suitors what you can do and that you can still play. Looks a shadow of himself.”

Disappointing from Harry Winks

Tottenham were expected to win against Vitesse this evening.

Even with their ‘B’ team and even away from home.

Winks was not the only Spurs player who struggled, but we have to say that the 25-year-old should have done better.

It was a rare start for the midfielder, and he should have done better to impress head coach Nuno.

While the England international did try his best and kept things ticking in the middle of the park, his passes were not always threatening and rather safe.

The Times reported in September that Tottenham wanted £40 million for Winks in the summer transfer window amid interest from Aston Villa and Everton.

In our view, if Spurs are to sell Winks in January, no club is going to pay that sum.

The Tottenham no. 8 has played only 61 minutes in the Premier League so far this season.
