Tottenham Hotspur will not let Harry Winks leave on loan amid interest from Rafael Benitez’s Everton, according to The Sun.

What’s the story?

The Sun are reporting that Winks wants to leave Tottenham on loan in the January transfer window.

The 25-year-old England international midfielder is struggling for playing time under head coach Nuno at the moment and wants to leave Spurs for the second half of the season.

Everton are among the clubs interested in Winks.

However, according to the report, Tottenham head coach Nuno and club chairman Daniel Levy do not want to let the 25-year-old leave.

Spurs still see the Englishman ‘a key back-up member of their squad’, and believe that he could play an important role in the team, especially if the club are able to make it through to the latter stages of the Europa Conference League.

Blow for Harry Winks

Tottenham’s reported stance will come as a blow for Winks.

There is really nothing much that the 25-year-old can do.

If Spurs do not want to let him leave, then Winks will simply have to stay at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The Tottenham no. 8 has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Premier League, and has played once in the Europa Conference League so far this season.
