Tottenham Hotspur welcome Manchester City to their new stadium tomorrow night.
Tottenham star Harry Winks spoke to reporters ahead of his side’s Champions League clash with Manchester City tomorrow, and shared how he has already noticed how daunting their magnificent new stadium can be for away teams, as quoted by the Daily Star.
Spurs finally moved into their new home last Wednesday, beating Crystal Palace 2-0, and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping that the stadium is rocking once again when City roll into town tomorrow night.
The north London outfit’s new 62,062 capacity stadium is arguably the best, most modern arena in world football.
And Manchester City will certainly have their work cut-out when they play Tottenham tomorrow night.
Winks spoke to reporters ahead of the Champions League clash, and highlighted how away teams could be intimidated by the atmosphere generated at the new stadium, as quoted by the Daily Star:
“We’re looking forward to it, everyone is looking forward to a big game coming off the back of a win and hopefully the fans can create the same atmosphere, which I’m sure they will. From what I gathered out there it can be quite daunting for the opposition, and that is all credit to the fans and the sound they make in the stadium.”
City are arguably the best team in the world at the moment, so Tottenham will have to be on their very best form if they are to take an advantage into the second-leg at the Etihad, and they should have every chance of doing just that if their fans create an atmosphere like that did against Palace on Wednesday night.
