Oliver Skipp made his Premier League debut for Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur side at the weekend.
Skipp was handed his Premier League debut for Tottenham at the weekend against Burnley.
The 18-year-old midfielder is regarded as one of Mauricio Pochettino’s side’s best up and coming talents.
And Winks believes that Skipp has a very bright future ahead of him at Tottenham.
“He’s a player that can really grow and help the team,” Winks said.
“On the ball, he’s technically a very good player. He’s another one who has come from the academy and can play. He can be aggressive, get stuck in when he needs to and break up play. The Spurs fans are going to love him.
“He’s a top player and a top person as well. He’s quite quiet, but whenever he’s needed advice he knows I’m always here to help him out and he’s got the backing of the team. Everyone is there to support him and help him grow.”
Spurs just about got past Burnley, and Skipp never looked out of place in the contest.
Tottenham had to wait until injury time to bag the only goal of the game, with Christian Eriksen coming off the substitutes’ bench to net the winner.
Tottenham have now moved into third place in the Premier League table, but the games keep coming thick and fast for Pochettino’s men.
Tottenham are in action again on Wednesday evening when they take on Arsenal in the League Cup, and Skipp could be involved from the bench again.
